Tackling the Tech Gender Gap

Thursday, September 27, 2012

Maybe you heard it on your drive home during All Things Considered on WBEZ.

But in case you missed it, here’s a link  to their piece on what ChiTech is doing to help close the gender gap in tech.

I hope you enjoy the story, and please share it with others. It captures the magic that we’re making happen, together at ChiTech each and every day.

The confidence and optimism that you’ll hear in our young girls’ voices is the confidence and optimism that you’ve helped instil. Through your mentorship, visits to classes, field trips and internships and financial support, you’ve changed lives.

Each year there is greater and greater demand for the opportunity that ChiTech offers to promising young technologists. Please help us meet this growing demand by making a donation, volunteering as a mentor, guest speaker or to host an internship–or both!

You can make a donation or shoot me an email (mhancock@chicagotechacademy.org) if you’re interested in volunteering.

Thanks for your partnership, and for helping to show all of our students that there’s no limit to what they can accomplish.
